4th Grade Chinese Tasting

Today I had a lot of fun visiting all of 4th grade classrooms for their "Chinese Tasting."  All of the students participated in a tasting of Chinese food from the China Inn.  This went along with the story "Yingtao's New Friend" that they had been studying in their language arts classes.  This story is about a boy from China adjusting to life in America.  The students enjoyed trying foods from the Chinese culture, including fried rice, egg rolls and fortune cookies of course!  The teachers were very grateful for all of the parents who helped with this festive occassion!

Why the blog?

This year, my personal goal is to start a blog.  There are so many really cool events and activities that our teachers have planned and our students have experienced.  I want to highlight some of these things to share with the Emerald Hill Community.  Stay tuned weekly as I try to share with you some of what goes on in our school.

Good Afternoon and Welcome!
I am working on improving my 21st Century skills by learning how to "blog."  Our new school ITRT, Angie Fiscus, held a session this afternoon to teach the staff at Emerald Hill how to start a blog.  Those of us who signed up were taught all the tricks of the trade!  I plan to learn and update as often as possible.  Check back soon for updates and additions!
